Can I borrow books using my PS Card?

Yes, the PS Card may be used for borrowing of materials after you have registered with the library.

Is there a fine for overdue books?

No.  However, the system will block the account if you have yet to return or renew a loan after reminders have been sent to you.  You are advised to return the books by the due date so that other users may have a chance to borrow them.

Can I renew my book loans without going to the library?

Yes.  You can call us at 68797196 or email MOE_Librarian@moe.gov.sg providing details of the titles that you want renewed.  However, this applies to the first 2 renewals only.  We will require the books to be presented at the library for subsequent renewals.

What happens if I lose a book which I borrowed?

You will need to replace the book. If the exact title cannot be obtained, the librarians will advice you on similar titles that can be used to replace the book.

Can I remain as a member of the Library when I am transferred out of MOE HQ?

The Library exists to serve MOE HQ staff.  You will need to return your Library Card when you are transferred out of MOE HQ.

Can I recommend books/publications for the Library?

Yes.  Please obtain a books/journals recommendation form from the counter or the Library's website.

How do I know when a book that I have recommended is available for loan?

An email message will be sent to you when the book is ready for borrowing.  It will be reserved for you at the counter for 2 weeks after which it will be returned to the shelf.

How do I request for an item that has been checked out?

Please make a reservation either through the online catalogue, email, phone or in person.  You will be informed when the item is available for your borrowing.

Where can I get a list of the latest acquisitions of the Library?

The library’s latest acquisitions will be posted both on the Library's website as well as on its notice board.

Where can I see the titles I have borrowed?

You can see a list of titles in your account through the "View my Account" link through the MHQ Catalogue.
